The Cheltenham office were delighted to present the latest Planning Matters Forum to a full house on Tuesday. The debate focussed upon the implications of the revised NPPF as well as matters regarding "Barriers to development" and how to improve the delivery of sustainable development.
The discussion was led by Paul Fong (Equity Partner of Ridge) and Helen Hutton (Partner Charles Russell Speechlys) who, with contribution from Peter Goatley (Barrister, No.5 Chambers) outlined the changes to the NPPF. Phillipa Lowe (Cotswold District Council) and Paul then raised issues concerning barriers to development.
The forum offered the opportunity to obtain information on and discuss topical issues relating to the NPPF. With the audience comprising developers, local authority planners and private planners, the debate was lively and informative.
The Forum also incorporated an interactive workshop where useful and important feedback was obtained from the audience regarding barriers to development. This feedback will be used by the LEP at the Development Managers meeting which will be held at the beginning of October.
